Learning Through Art: Book Alive! For Kids

Key success markers allowed confident measurement of preschool & early elementary chidren’s experiences with a new MVP app.

Learning Through Art sought to expand their children's literacy program into an iPad app that would engage learners through storybooks, games, and activities. Partnering closely with their team, we defined and validated a release-ready MVP of a tablet-based app meant to encourage family involvement in a child’s reading journey. Openfield measured the success of the app with children ranging from ages 4–9.

Highlights

  • Positive results

The Book Alive! for Kids app shows overwhelmingly positive results in initial testing of the release-ready MVP.

  • High confidence with a small sample size

Leveraging six key success markers and statistical analysis, Openfield achieved high confidence that results would continue to be positive if tested with a larger number of participants.

  • Identified an area for optimization

Average scores were higher with 7–9 year olds than with 4–6 year olds, which revealed the need to conduct additional research and optimize the product experience for users of all age groups.
